Reflections on the Water
Grandma Bonnie describes her technique for the reflections with Little Bear Ducky…
“To get the reflections, what i do is color the water lightly first and then i color under the images like a shadow..using the colors from the image. Then i go back over the “colors” with the color i used for the water. I do it lightly and add color if i need it. i’ve taken a Copic class teaching the water technique from Michelle Houghton and again at Kit and Clowder. Also Youtube has videos showing how to color reflections. The background was created by coloring with the darkest color at the horizon and gradually flicking the marker up adding the next lightest color you’ve chosen to use.. Sometimes using a marker that needs to be refilled (in this case the lightest blue) helped me achieve the feeling of clouds.“
Carla Brooke used a program Craft Artist 2 and the CS Summer Seaside digikit to create this beautiful background scene for the image Lizzie.
